Senator Bongbong Marcos Cup 2011: The Asia Pacific
Challenge starts today

Dubbed as "The Asia Pacific Challenge", top guns of the region will be competing starting today, the opening day of the Senator Bongbong Marcos Cup 2011-World Shoot XVI Tune up Match scheduled September 7-11 at the Marcos combat shooting firing range in Paoay, Ilocos Norte.

This year's version of the Sen. Bongbong Marcos Cup shall be a 17-Stage, Level III practical shooting match that is specifically designed to present a balanced challenge of exercising all the elements of the International Practical Shooting Confederation (IPSC) principle--Power, Speed and Accuracy.

The IPSC regions from within the Asia Pacific are invited to field their prized division teams to compete in what may be the final tune up for the up-coming World Shoot XVI, which is considered as the Olympics of practical shooting, on October 2-9, 2011 in Rhodes, Greece. Among the qualified IPSC regions that will be competing for Asia Pacific titles are Philippines, China, Australia, United States, Guam. Japan. Hongkong, Indonesia, Kuwait, Laos, Macau, Malaysia, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Taiwan and Thailand.

IPSC regions who are not part of the list presented above may also compete in the Overall team championships but not for the Asia Pacific titles.

Competitors who belong to any IPSC region can qualify for both the overall Division and Category awards. Also, competitors who belong to regions other than the Philippines may compete for the International awards sub-category.

While IPSC is an international organization founded in Columbia, Missouri in May 1976, countries can form their own organization under the IPSC umbrella which is the Philippine Practical Shooting Association (PPSA) in the country.
