ANGARA: CHINESE NEW YEAR OFFERS RENEWED HOPE

As the country welcomes the Chinese New Year, Senator Edgardo J. Angara is hopeful that the coming lunar year would usher in a more productive and progressive period for the Philippines.

"We would like to extend our greetings of prosperity and good fortune to the entire Filipino-Chinese community here in our country," said Angara.

The year of the Water Dragon for the Chinese is expected to bring good luck for local businesses and foreign investors, as well as potentially enhance local tourism and travel.

"We could use this encouraging forecast as a guide for our country's goals this coming year: Boosting small-to-medium scale enterprises, attracting more foreign investments and promoting local travel," he said.

Angara said that the nation already seems to be on the right track just a few weeks into the year.

"We have already seen the impact of the new tourism slogan, which would hopefully increase local tourism among Filipinos, and the government had already enacted measures to protect the small business owners in the country," explained Angara.
