Transcript of interview with Senator Sotto

Q: Accomplishments Sir ng Senate despite the impeachment?

Sotto: As chairman of the Committee on Rules, I am very satisfied with the production or output for the entire year, for July 2011 to June 7, 2012 the total numbers of Bills and Resolutions that have been passed and as of today that might be passed, it can be classified as 32 Bills passed on 2011 with 79 simple Resolutions, 3 Treaties. From January to July during the impeachment 39 Bills and Resolutions and 18 local Bills from that portion of the session but as of today we are passing another 5 Senate Bills but a total of 85 local Bills will be passed today. These include the creation of courts, conversion of colleges into universities from the Committee on Justice and Committee on Education. So, even without the impeachment the number of bills and resolution that I announced is already an achievement, it is an excellent achievement, so kung nakuha mo ng may impeachment na malaki ang nakuha na oras siguro pwede mong masabi na 5 stars achievement ang nagawa ng Senado for the entire year.

Q: Sir kung wala ang impeachment mas marami pa kaya 'yan?

Sotto: Meron pa palang 3 na veto ng presidente...

Q: Kung walang impeachment?

Sotto: Pwedeng mas nadagdagan pa ng konti pero more or less ganun narin siguro kasi ang nangyari lang nag-triple time kami ng trabaho, naging mahirap para sa amin, dumami lang ang puting buhok namin at baka mas marami lang ng konti.

Q: Cramming mode ba kayo ngayon last day na?

Sotto: Sa local Bills yes, I would like to admit that in the local Bills we are really cramming but we will be able to do it and hopefully by the time we get back we will be able to finish the rest. Hindi naman mamamatay ang mga Bills dahil ang sine die naming is still for the 15th Congress hindi naman mapupunta sa 16th Congress. Kung ito ay 2013 papuntang 16th Congress, ubos lahat.
