Let us rekindle our love for country

This was the call made by Sen. Manny Villar, president of the Nacionalista Party during the launch of the Young Nacionalistas at the historic Laurel House in Shaw Blvd., Mandaluyong City last Saturday.

Villar espoused patriotism among the young generation of Nacionalista members, stressing that it should continue to reign in the hearts of every Filipino. He noted that Filipinos would never experience true freedom if the country remains mired in poverty.

Villar believes that the establishment of the Young Nacionalista will give the youth the inspiration from the current leaders of the Nacionalista Party by working further for the fight for good governance and the eradication of poverty.

Villar said he is pleased that the Nacionalista Party continues to move forward as proven by the track record of its members who have been actively participating in worthwhile legislation in the Senate and the House of Representatives.

Villar said the trust to the party can be seen in the wide number of candidates running for various posts around the country. The Commission on Elections (Comelec) had validated that the NP has fielded the biggest number of candidates running in the mid-term elections.

Martin Loon and Michael Manotoc, newly elected president and director general of the Young Nacionalista, respectively, took oath before Senator Manny Villar, Senator Alan Peter Cayetano and Sen. Antonio Trillanes IV on Saturday.

Martin Loon is an adoptive son of Marine Col. Ariel Querubin, while Michael Manotoc is one of the sons of Ilocos Norte Governor Imee Marcos.

In return, Loon and Matonoc pledged that they will help propagate the Nacionalista Party's causes, and that they will encourage more and more of their countrymen to be more patriotic --similar to the vision, mission and goal of the Nacionalista Party.

Zamboanga Norte 2nd district Congressman Cesar Jalosjos, Davao Oriental 1st district congressmen Henry Dayanghirang, Nueva Vizcaya Congressman Carlos Padilla and former Marine Col. Ariel Querubin also attended the historic event.
