Labor groups endorse Alan Cayetano
Cayetano hailed as champion of laborers

Nagkaisa, the largest umbrella organization of labor groups came together today support and endorse the senatorial bid of Senator alan cayetano. Nagkaisa has 47 member organisations of moderate to democratic left leaning that include the Trade Union Congress of the Philippines (TUCP), Alliance of Progressive Labor (APL), Public Services Labor Independent Confederation (PSLINK), National Association of Broadcast Unions (NABU), Partido Manggagawa (PM), and the Bukluran ng Manggagawang Pilipino (BMP). The labor formation explained that Cayetano's PTK: Presyo, Trabaho, Kita advocacy gives voice to the needs of the different sectors of this country. "Senator Alan understands that the fight against high prices, lack of jobs, and low wages," it said. "Senator Alan's PTK program is the right program to help more Filipino families feel the benefits of our growing economy."

"After hearing about Senator Alan's Listening Tour, which he has conducted from the Cordillera Region to Mindanao, we are convinced that he is the kind of senator we need: someone who listens. We believe that he is the right man in the Senate to fight for our cause."

The labor group also made mention of Senator Alan's support for various issues that directly address laborers' needs: the security of tenure bill, amendments to the Electric Power Industry Reform Act (EPIRA) to ensure energy security, the appointment of a labor/consumer representative to the Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC), and the amendments to the Salary Standardization Law for civil servants, among others. For his part, Cayetano expressed gratitude. "I'm thankful for Nagkaisa!'s endorsement and for their support of my PTK plan," said Senator Alan. "More Filipino families need to feel the benefits of this growing economy - that's why I want to not only continue the fight against corruption, but launch a new fight to create wages, lower prices, and increase wages - Presyo, Trabaho, Kita."
