Gringo denounces "massive misinformation campaign"
HONASAN REACHES OUT TO LEFT, REVEALS: "IT WAS RED"

Senatorial Candidate Gringo Honasan today revealed that Ret. Air Force Col. Eduardo "Red" Kapunan's "wanton insubordination led to the deaths of innocent civilians" in the persons of Rolando Olalia and Leonor Alay-ay in 1986.

Olalia and Alay-ay were known communist insurgents who were under surveillance by the government. "I ordered Red to stop. They went on. In the course of questioning, bumigay ang katawan nung dalawa," Senator Honasan said. Kapunan is currently on trial for the double murder after surrendering to the Army. He is in the custody of the National Bureau of Investigation.

Honasan, who has consistently ranked among the top 12 Senatorial candidates, has been the subject of a "massive misinformation campaign" in the past weeks. He has been tagged as among the "henchmen" of UNA partymate and Senatorial candidate Jack Enrile, who himself has been accused of taking part in the murders of Alfie Anido, Ernesto Lucas, and other civilians in the 70's and 80's. Both senatoriables vehemently deny the accusations.

"Some of our friends from the left are convinced that I had something to do with that murder," said Senator Honasan. "I hope this statement clears the matter. Sana makita ng mga kaibigan natin sa kilusan na iisa lang ang aming pinaglalaban, at itigil na nila ang black propaganda alang-alang sa bayan."

The reformist senator added that he has been granted full amnesty by President Fidel V. Ramos, and therefore he cannot be judged on this. Along with Kapunan, Senator Honasan was named by a state witness as one of the commanding officers of soldiers who abducted and murdered Olalia and his companion. Honasan is not yet listed with the thirteen accused in the double murder case.

"Olalia is a patriot and hero of the laborers. It is a shame that he was murdered in cold blood by a brute and a coward," continued Honasan.
