Statement on the Luy files

The information on Benhur Luy's files detailing the supposed kickback on a DOTC project being attributed to a certain VLL has already been answered by Luy himself.

He himself had earlier declared that Sen. Alan Peter S. Cayetano refused to deal with Napoles. As was written in a May 14 story of the Inquirer: "Luy in earlier interviews with the Inquirer said Cayetano declined to enter into transactions with Napoles."

We reiterate Sen. Cayetano's position that he did not receive a centavo from Napoles or any of her NGOs.

Sen. Cayetano is not new to attempts to malign his character and tarnish his good name. He has fought corruption all his life. And he will not back down now.

As early as August 2013, he already opened his office's books to the COA and asked the agency to inspect his projects for any sign of corruption. We are confident they will find nothing.

We also challenge his accusers to face him in the Senate and let the truth come out. He reiterates his earlier statement that he can look every Filipino family in the eye because he is telling the truth.
