SEN. GUINGONA SUPPORTS NATIONAL CAMPAIGN VS CORRUPTION
FILES RESOLUTION COMMENDING INTEGRITY INITIATIVE

Senator Teofisto "TG" Guingona III is supporting a national campaign against corruption, as he filed Senate Resolution No. 868, commending the Integrity Initiative, a private sector-driven effort to institutionalize integrity and curb corruption in the country.

"The recent 'Pork Barrel Scam' is a case in point on how the lack of integrity breeds corruption, which makes the cause of the Integrity Initiative more pivotal," Sen. Guingona said.

He added that this private-sector initiative reignites hope for the nation and helps the government restore the trust and confidence of its people.

"Integrity is not only the absence of corruption, but a way of living that should be adopted and espoused not only by those in government but also those in business, academe, media, non-government organizations, and the whole of civil society," Sen. Guingona stressed.

The Resolution urges the government to require all private firms engaging in business with it to sign the Integrity Pledge, which is a formal and concrete commitment to adhere to ethical business practices and to support a national campaign against corruption.

"Integrity, transparency and accountability. These are the three main ingredients needed to finally curb the culture of corruption in our society. We are all called not only to do our jobs competently, but to live our lives with integrity," Sen. Guingona said.
