Transcript of Ambush Interview with Senate President Franklin M. Drilon

Q: On Senator Marcos' suggestion of amending the ARMM organic law in lieu of the BBL

SPFMD: That idea he has mentioned- let's see in the committee report. Ang committee report ay isusumite ni Senator Marcos ayon sa aming usapan sa pagbalik naman sa Hulyo. Kaya hintayin na lang natin.

Q: Pero sa inyo po, sir?

SPFMD: Hintayin na lang natin.

Q: On separation of powers in BBL

SPFMD: The BBL must be consistent with the Constitution. That has always been the position of the senators and we are all concerned and interested in having peace and stability in Mindanao.

Q: But wouldn't amending the ARMM law go against the gov't agreement with the MILF?

SPFMD: Let's see how this works out. We will await the report of Senator Bongbong, and we will discuss this in plenary.

Q: (Question inaudible)

SPFMD: That was mentioned by one senator. But I do not know if that's being talked about. The extension - yes, I have heard it as an idea.

Q: You have earlier called on Sec. Mar to already declare his intention to run in 2016. Have you had the chance to talk to him about this?

SPFMD: No, I haven't had the chance to discuss that specific idea with him, but I still maintain that he should do that. I reiterate that.

Q: May party directive daw to promote Sec. Mar, to say if he is the standard-bearer.

SPFMD: No, I haven't received that, if any. What we have received would be to strengthen our organizational efforts in our own respective bailiwicks.

Q: No specific directive on Sec. Mar?

SPFMD: There is no specific directive that I have received. It might have been a directive that I have not been yet provided a copy of.

Q: (Question inaudible)

SPFMD: I could not confirm that.
