Bongbong 'adopts' Isko

VICE presidential candidate Senator Ferdinand "Bongbong" R. Marcos Jr. has announced on Wednesday that they will adopt Manila Vice Mayor Isko Moreno, Francisco Domagoso in real life, who is running for senator in the May 2016 elections.

"Ngayon ko pa lang sasabihin na 'yung kandidatura ni Vice Mayor Isko Moreno para sa Senado ay aming i-aadopt siya bilang isang senador," Marcos announced in his speech during the 23rd Annual National Convention of the Vice Mayors' League of the Philippines held at the Marriott Hotel in Manila.

"I am honored and humbled. I would like to thank Senator Marcos and I was not even expecting it at all considering that they don't have a senatorial line-up yet," Moreno said in an interview after the affair.

Marcos said one of the reasons why he chose Moreno is his experience in local government as the senator batted that the national government needs officials that have a genuine concern for local government units.

"Kaya naman very supportive kami sa inyong pangulo na si Vice Mayor Moreno... Sa aming paniniwala, kailangang mas marami tayo sa national government na ang puso ay nasa local government pa rin para maging representative, maging boses at may paninindigan," he told the more than 400 convention delegates.

Before becoming senator when he was elected in 2010, placing 7th overall, Marcos had served as vice governor, governor and congressman in Ilocos Norte.
