Sen. Marcos Bats For A Strong Gov't-Business Sector
Connection For Infrastructure

Senator Ferdinand "Bongbong" R. Marcos Jr. urged the business sector to link with the government as a necessary step to move the economy in terms of planning and implementing infrastructure projects.

"We (in the government) should have more connections and consultations with you," Marcos told locators in the Freeport Area of Bataan (FAB) in a dialogue last Wednesday held at the Oriental Hotel inside the FAB, Bataan.

Marcos said a regular consultation will resolve the apparent mismatch between the infrastructures program of the government and the actual requirements of industries where they are most needed.

"What we should have is a business-driven, business-related infrastructure program and not just a government infrastructure plan," he said.

Marcos lauded the present administration of FAB, headed by its Chairman, Deogracias Custodio, for making the Freeport Area an attractive destination for investors that generated thousands of jobs.

Custodio informed Marcos that there are 26,000 workers now inside the Freeport, which is more than double the total number of employees back in 2010.
