I welcome the verdict of the Olongapo Regional Trial Court that finds US Marine Pfc. Joseph Scott Pemberton guilty of homicide for killing Filipino transgender Jennifer Laude.

This is a triumph of justice and let it be known to all that our judicial institutions are strong and vibrant and our system here in the Philippines works fair and impartial.
