TEAM GRACE-CHIZ RENEWS COMMITMENT TO POSITIVE CAMPAIGNING

The tandem of Senators Grace Poe and Francis "Chiz" Escudero promised to keep the level of political discourse dignified, respectable and free of dirty tricks to help the electorate decide intelligently on who should be the country's next leaders.

The veteran lawmaker's statement comes in the midst of an intensifying disinformation drive directed against his presidential running mate in connection with the petitions seeking to cancel Poe's certificate of candidacy filed with the Commission on Elections (COMELEC), and rulings favoring the petitioners.

He also sought to disabuse the minds of the public fed with wrong information that Poe, who has been leading in nationwide pre-election surveys, has been taken out of the official list of candidates.

Instead of resorting to mudslinging or dirty tricks, which is what Poe's opponents are doing right now, Escudero said they will turn the entire political exercise into a forum for education and discussion of their plans for the country.
