Sen. Marcos' advice to newly-weds: There is forever!
"Keep flames of love burning to stay together"

Senator Ferdinand "Bongbong" R. Marcos, Jr. is anchoring his campaign for the vice presidency on a platform of national unity and in his advice to newly-wed couples in Pangasinan on Friday runs on the same theme: keep the flames of love burning to stay together forever.

Marcos took a break from his campaign sortie in Pangasinan to act as one of the sponsors to the 37 couples in the sunset mass wedding held at the municipal auditorium of San Quintin town.

"Treat every day as if you were newly-wed. In that way you will keep your love fresh, you will keep your love new and you will always look forward to the future together for the rest of your lives," he said.

Marcos said the love that brought the couples together to marriage that day is the same love they can rely on for strength and the determination to stay together amid hard times and problems.

Marcos is happily married to lawyer Louise "Liza" Araneta Marcos. They have three boys, Ferdinand Alexander III, Joseph Simon and William Vincent

Marcos assured the couples that he is taking seriously his role as their wedding sponsor. He said that each couple will receive his calling card so they can reach him for help if they need it.

"Kung may problema kayo, gusto ninyong magpatulong sabihin ninyo sa akin. Isipin ninyo, ako ang ninong ninyo. Hindi ako ninong na para lang mailagay sa invitation, para lang mailagay sa announcement," he said. "In the coming years may the love that brought you together grow with each and every single day. Congratulations to our grooms, best wishes to our brides," Marcos added.

Marcos said he is honored not only for the request to act as one of the sponsors in the mass wedding but also because of the warm reception he received from the people of Pangasinan in his campaign sorties in the province.

With such positive response from the people of the province, Marcos expressed confidence that his message for national unity has established a solid foundation in Pangasinan. Marcos believes national unity begins with the family.

"The unity of these men and women who are getting married today, let us bring that same unity dito sa atin, hindi lamang dito sa Pangasinan kundi sa buong sambayanang Pilipino," Marcos said.
