BICOLANOS GIVE BONGBONG MARCOS A WARM WELCOME
Political Rivals Fete Marcos

Vice Presidential candidate Senator Ferdinand "Bongbong" R. Marcos has continued to get warm receptions from political rivals as he was feted with another rock star welcome this time from the Bicolanos of Camarines Norte.

Political leaders allied with Governor Edgardo Tallado hosted Marcos at the Bagasbas Lighthouse Hotel in Daet today. They were led by Vice Governor Jonah San Pedro who brought with him majority of the Mayors in the province for a meeting.

Thereafter, Gubernatorial candidate Jesus Typoco, a member of the Nacionalista Party, organized a huge rally for the Senator in the city center. Typoco announced that he is supporting the candidacy of Marcos because he believes in his track record and commitment to public service.

In his speech, Marcos thanked the whole of Camarines Norte for the rousing welcome. He said their warm reception is a classic example of what national unity can achieve for the country.

"Ipinapakita ninyo sa buong bansa kung paano ang pagkakaisa ay makakatulong upang pagandahin muli ang ating buhay," he told the large crowd.

Four other Vice Presidential candidates are Bicolanos. But Marcos averred that running for a national position does not depend on a candidate's ethnicity but his programs that will uplift the lives of the people.

"Sa aking palagay ang pagtakbo sa isang national position ay hindi naman dahil Ilocano ako at Bicolano ka pero kung sino ang makakapagbigay ng mga solusyon para sa mga problema ng ating mga kababayan," he said.

Marcos said that while he is thankful for the support of the so-called Solid North, he is happy that he is still being warmly accepted in other parts of the country.

"Ang pagkakaroon ng balwarte ay napakalaking tulong dahil may lugar na makakaasa ka na sumusuporta syo. Pero hindi ako tumatakbo para lamang sa Ilocandia kundi sa buong Pilipinas at ako'y natutuwa na maganda naman ang pagtanggap sa akin sa buong bansa," Marcos concluded.
