BONGBONG MARCOS: CAMPAIGN HAS SHIFTED TO GUARDING OF VOTES
It's not over 'til it's over

With exactly a week to go before the elections, Vice Presidential candidate Senator Ferdinand "Bongbong" R. Marcos Jr. today said thecampaign is starting to shift towards making sure all his votes will be counted in his favor.

Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of his campaign sortie in Pasig City, Marcos stated that while his campaign is still working double time to reach more people, it has started to shift towards guarding his votes on election day.

"We are now focusing on guarding our votes. Of course, we are still campaigning but we are intent on making sure that all our votes are counted," he said.

Marcos also said that despite "encouraging" survey results which show him consistently topping the Vice Presidential race, he will continue to work doubly hard in the remaining days of the campaign. "It's not over 'til it's over! Habang gumaganda ang survey, dapat mas lalo pa tayong magdouble-time kaya't 'yan ang aming ginagawa ngayon," he said.

Marcos said his legal team and volunteer groups are working overtime to ensure that all possible problems and concerns will be addressed on May 9 and thereafter referred to the Commission on Elections (Comelec) for appropriate action.

"Our legal team is on top of the preparations in making sure all our votes are counted and guarded. We also have our volunteers who will help us on the ground to closely monitor the elections on Monday," he said.

Guarding the votes is an essential component, he said in the conduct of the elections in the light of reports during the Overseas Absentee Voting (OAV) coming from Hong Kong, Dubai, Japan and California that votes cast for him are being credited to other candidates in the vote receipts.

"Ako lang ang nababawasan ng boto sa mga kandidato sa OAV kaya talagang nakakabahala ang mga natatanggap naming reports galling abroad. Ito ang nais naming tugunan dito na hindi ito mangyari sa May 9," Marcos stressed.

Marcos urged all the voters to also actively take part in the guarding of their votes to ensure that elections are fair and credible.

"Dapat lahat tayo magbantay hindi lang sa aking boto na pagiigihan ng aking mga taga suporta kundi sa lahat ng mga boto pati na ng ibang mga kandidato kasi interes nating lahat na ang eleksyon ay malinis at kapani-paniwala," Marcos concluded.
