NO HATE CAMPAIGN, JUST LOVE FOR COUNTRY FOR POE-ESCUDERO TANDEM

As the hotly-contested and complicated election campaign draws to a close, Sen. Francis "Chiz" Escudero thanked his supporters and volunteers for sticking to the "Gobyernong may Puso's" commitment for a clean and hate-free political campaign for the May 9 national elections.

All though out the political season, which started when he and Poe declared their intention to seek for higher office in September, Escudero he is proud that they mounted a positive campaign and put forward their plans and programs for the next six years, should they get elected into office.

"We ran a clean campaign because we are both of the firm belief that our next leaders will have a tough job uniting the country after the elections for receiving a minority mandate from the electorate," Escudero said.

"That's why from the beginning we decided to run a clean campaign because whoever wins, either as president or vice president, must be able to work together and unite the country," he added.

Despite being the constant target of black propaganda, Poe and Escudero have shunned negative campaigning and instead focused on delivering their message of rapid and inclusive growth, poverty alleviation, good governance and global competitiveness.

The veteran lawmaker said it is important for Filipinos to rally behind the poll winners to unite the country after a divisive election season.

"The biggest challenge for our next leaders will be to unite the country after the heated electoral process. So it is important for Filipinos to rally behind the poll winners whoever they will be," he added.

The independent vice-presidential bet vowed a non-discriminating dispense of public service under the "Gobyernong may Puso" of Poe if they win in Monday's polls.

Escudero said he and Poe chose white as their campaign color in accordance with their advocacy of equal opportunities for all sectors regardless of political leanings.
