Senate OK's chairmanship of 12 more committees

The Senate today continued constituting the standing Senate committees in the Upper Chamber, after it announced the chairmanship and membership of 12 more committees.

This came after the Senate voted to approve the organization and chairmanship of 21 Senate committees last July 25, 2016.

With Senate President Aquilino "Koko" Pimentel III presiding over the session, Senate Majority Leader Tito Sotto III moved for the election of the chairpersons of the committees listed below:

The Senate also adopted Senate resolution No. 68, which separated the Senate Committee on Games, Amusement and Sports into two new standing committees -- the Senate Committee on Games and Amusement, and the Senate Committee on Sports.

Under the Senate rules, the Senate President Pro Tempore, the Senate Majority Leader, and the Senate Minority Leader are all "ex-officio" members of all standing Senate committees.
