Villanueva to launch Tulong Trabaho at Kabuhayan Project in Tarlac

Senator Joel Villanueva is set to turnover training scholarships and livelihood assistance for the indigenous people of Tarlac on the eve of the country's observance of Labor Day.

The chair of the Senate committee on labor, employment, and human resources development said that the "Tulong Trabaho at Kabuhayan Project" will be held tomorrow, April 30, Monday, at Brgy. Cristo Rey covered court in Capas, Tarlac at 9:30am.

Villanueva added that government agencies such as the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), the Department of Science and Technology (DOST), and the local government of Capas will join tomorrow's jobs and livelihood project.

"In line with our advocacy of creating decent jobs for every Filipino, we will be awarding 500 scholarships for carpentry, welding, masonry, and agricultural courses from TESDA, and P1.5-million worth of DOLE Integrated Livelihood Program (DILP) and Tulong Pangkabuhayan para sa Disadvantaged (TUPAD) workers assistance for the Aeta community," Villanueva said.

"Our government and private companies are investing more than P50-billion pesos for the construction of the New Clark City and we also have a number of infrastructure projects under the Build, Build, Build program including the construction of the 1,500-hectare industrial park in Clark and the expansion of the Clark International Airport. These projects will help provide construction jobs for our IPs," Villanueva added.

The senator further shared that the DOST will also provide Starbooks digital science library to O'Donell National High School, Aquaponics urban agriculture technology to Sta. Juliana High School, integrated solar power generator and water irrigation pump to Sitio Ye Young of Brgy. Sta. Juiliana, and complimentary food for 60-day feeding program for children 6-36 months to Sta. Juliana Barangay Health Center.

"Sa atin pong pagtutulong-tulong ay hindi po imposibleng maiangat natin ang pamumuhay ng ating mga kababayan," the senator said.

"This jobs and livelihood project will open up a door of opportunities for our IPs by providing them the right set of skills needed here in the province," Villanueva stressed.
