GORDON'S BAGUMBAYAN PARTY FIELDS CANDIDATES IN 2019 POLLS

Bagumbayan Volunteers for a New Philippines Party, the political party founded by Senator Richard J. Gordon, entered the race for the 2019 mid-term elections by fielding candidates who share the party's vision for a new Philippines.

Gordon, Bagumbayan-VNP Party chairman and president, said the party has a defined platform of governance, anchored on what the country's forefathers have envisioned and fought for, to forge a new Philippines that is peopled by citizens who are enabled and ennobled and free.

"Ang Bagumbayan sumali ulit dito because we are trying to build a party, na talagang based on issues, at saka based on the kayamanan ng ating history, yung ating defense, yung ating oportunidad para sa mga tao na hindi lamang pangmalalaki, ngunit ma-ibahagi natin ang pagkakataon natin makapagsilbi, makatamasa ng mga dapat makuha. at malaganap natin para sa bayan. Aang gusto namin hindi poverty reduction, ang gusto namin yumaman ang tao. hindi lang yung iilan," he said.

"Kailangan meron tayong plataporma na, tuluy-tuloy, meron tayong change, may commitment, may continuity. kailangan natin talaga yung partido na talagang may ideology, na susundan, na may programa. Para sa ganun, marunong tayo tumingin sa pinanggalingan at mararating natin ang paroroonan natin dahil tayo ay may sariling pag-iisip at ang ating battlecry sa English ay 'Enable and Ennoble,'" the senator further explained.

Bagumbayan aims to raise the country's economy to a new level of growth and global competitiveness by investing in the modernization of national infrastructure, releasing the energies of the private sector, simplifying and streamlining the rules and procedures for doing business, raising domestic and foreign investments, and raising productivity in agriculture, industry and services. To produce the strong army of workforce needed to achieve this goal, the party also seeks to provide quality education and improved public health services.

Leading Bagumbayan's roster of candidates is former Interior and Local Government Secretary Raffy Alunan who filed his certificate of candidacy for senator on Wednesday accompanied by the senator.

"I'm running under Bagumbayan Party. I run under Bagumbayan party in 2016, sa kasalukuyan, I am still a member of Bagumbayan party. Equal opportunity to all ang legislation in terms of education, health, transportation, justice, very important yung social justice, we want to work for a strong defense. Sapagkat matagal na tayong pinupulot lagi sa kangkungan, kulang na kulang ang ating investments sa national defense, public safety and national security. We stand for that. We stand for a strong united Philippines," Alunan said.
