Statement of Sen. JV Ejercito on the need for sufficient supply of measles vaccines

I urge the Department of Health to ensure a steady and sufficient supply of measles vaccines not only for the victims, but also for the necessary mass inoculations in areas not yet affected by the outbreak in order to contain the illness from spreading further. If necessary, the DOH should make an emergency procurement.

Given the great density of the affected regions in terms of population, quick response and sufficient vaccines and medicines are paramount to cure the patients before they develop serious and fatal complications and, at the same time, prevent the spread of the highly contagious disease.

Also, the DOH should ensure timely delivery of the measles vaccines.

Dapat kausapin ng DOH at hingin ang tulong ng mga trucking companies, airlines, shipping lines at iba pang transportation companies para tumulong sa pagbibiyahe ng supply ng bakuna at maihatid nang maayos at sa takdang oras sa mga probinsiya o region na may measles outbreak.

I am sure cargo companies will not hesitate to cooperate with the government in times and emergencies like this.

We can prevent the spread of measles. Swift and decisive action is the key. Dapat lang magtulungan ang lahat.
