Villar sees more vibrant economic activity in Las Pinas with completion of River Drive

Sen. Cynthia Villar said smoother traffic flow and more vibrant economic activity in Las Pinas will follow once the river drive project has been completed.

The Las Pinas River Drive from CAA road to C5 road project, which is an initiative of Villar, is a three-phase, 6.2-kilometer road project. This is designed to ease traffic congestion and reduce flooding incidents in the city during the rainy season.

"We are very proud of this project which will cut the travel time to and from the city of Las Pinas by 300%percent. This new road and other road infrastructure developments will make Las Pinas more attractive to investors," Villar said.

Villar made this statement during the celebration of the 5th Las Pinas River Festival, where she, together with daughter Camille and barangay officials, had the chance to check on the construction of the remaining phase of the river drive and inaugurate the Naga Bridge via Greenlane, Camella 3D and St. Joseph. The last phase from Naga Bridge to Dona Julia Will be finished by July 2019.

The first phase of the project is from Donal Julita to C5 Road. The second phase is from CAA Bridge to Manuela 4B and the third phase is the continuation of Manuela 4B to Naga Bridge.

The Las Piñas River Festival also included a drum and lyre competition participated by 16 public schools in the city. This year's competition was won by Almanza Elementary School.
