State of RP's public hospitals appals Gordon

Appalled by the sorry state of most public hospitals all over the country where poor Filipinos seek medical treatment, Senator Richard J. Gordon underscored the need for prompt action to upgrade and expand the facilities and services of public medical institutions.

Gordon said he intends to discuss the problem with Health Secretary Francisco T. Duque III in connection with public hospitals under the supervision of the Department of Health and called on local government officials to allocate funds for upgrading and expanding their public hospitals.

Gordon has received numerous complaints about the poor state of public hospitals in the country.
