Villar's livelihood projects to benefit more mothers

Re-electionist Senator Cynthia Villar in her campaign sorties around the country, has been pushing for the creation of more livelihood opportunities to benefit women, especially the mothers who can't afford to leave their children and the family home.

"Syempre tayong mga Nanay, maraming responsibilidad sa bahay. That is why I established livelihood projects in communities na malapit lang at pwede pa nilang dalhin ang mga anak nila," Villar said.

Villar, mother of three children namely Paolo, Mark and Camille, also commended working mothers who have successfully juggled their responsibilities at work and at home.

"Ang mga Tatay they have better chances of getting full-time jobs kasi ang reality, ang ating mga Nanay ang kailangang mag-alaga ng anak at gumawa ng gawaing-bahay," Villar said.

Villar also said the creation of livelihood projects in the communities was inspired by the mothers she met along the way who also want to contribute to the income of the family.

The Misis HanepBuhay of the Nacionalista Party said majority of the beneficiaries of the 1,932 livelihood projects she established all over the country are women and mothers.

Villar's livelihood projects include water lily weaving, composting, citronella massage oil making, garlic paper making, coconet making, plastic recycling, urban gardening aquaculture and many more.
