Bong Go gives aid to fire victims in Las Piñas

Senator Christopher Lawrence "Bong" Go continues to carry out his promise to help Filipinos in need, most especially victims of fire and natural disasters. On Thursday, September 26, Go proceeded to Las Piñas City to bring aid to the fire victims who are temporarily staying at Mapayapa Covered Court in Brgy. Pulang Lupa Uno.

Go told the fire victims.

The tragedy that struck Chua Compound left 400 families homeless and forcing over 1,140 individuals to stay in the evacuation area. Go distributed aid, such as grocery packs and financial assistance. He also told fire victims that he will pay for the fare of those who want to go home to their respective provinces.

Go said in his message.

Although no casualties were recorded, two residents were injured in the incident. Go immediately told the victims and the rest of the community about the Malasakit Center where they can ask for financial and medical assistance and secure quality health services from the government.

Wala pong pinipili yan at binabalik lang po ang pera ninyo sa inyo," Go said explaining that there is also an express lane for people with disabilities and senior citizens.

Go also encouraged the fire victims, most especially those who need to have a check-up with a specialist, to ask his staff for help.

He also added that he will provide for the fare and the accommodation expenses if needed.

The senator was also accompanied by representatives from the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) and National Housing Authority (NHA) to extend additional government assistance, including availment of affordable and decent homes for qualified fire victims.

Biyernes, walang tao doon, so sabi ko Biyernes hanggang Linggo, iikutan ko po kayo," Go explained, adding that his previous experience as the trusted aide of the then mayor and now President Rodrigo Duterte has made him used to the job of immersing in communities and being close to people in need of government attention.

Go says truth about ninja cops must be revealed

In an ambush interview, Go told reporters that Filipinos deserve to know the truth about the alleged "ninja cops" that were first mentioned by former chief of the Philippine National Police-Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (PNP-CIDG) and, now, Baguio City Mayor Benjamin Magalong during the Senate inquiry on anomalies in the country's correctional facilities.

These so-called ninja cops were reported to have been recycling seized illegal drugs, and a list has already been provided by the Senate to the President. A possibility to expose their identities is also being studied and Go insists that this should be done.

Go said adding that he still trusts the PNP for as long as they continue to weed out illegal drugs, corruption and criminality from within their ranks.

Kaya kailangan ang pulis natin malinis at respetado," Go explained.

The senator also aired that he still trusts PNP Chief Oscar Albayalde, saying that he is sure that Albayalde was not part of the ninja cops issue.

"I still believe in General Albayalde po. In-appoint po siya ng Pangulong Duterte as Chief PNP at maganda naman po ang kanyang naging track record," he said.

Go also noted that the President is willing to offer a reward to those who will give information about these "ninja cops".

Go also highlighted that he will continue his support to the present administration and work hand-in-hand with the President in fulfilling their promise of providing positive change in the lives of every Filipino.

"Gusto ko pong ipagpatuloy ung pagbabagong inumpisahan ng ating mahal na Pangulo, lalung-lalo na po sa kampanya niya laban sa illegal na droga, kriminalidad at korapsyon," Go said.

This comes after the quarterly poll of 1,200 Filipinos conducted by Social Weather Stations showed a rating of "excellent" for Duterte's three-year campaign, with 82% satisfied due to a perception of less drugs and crime in the country. The same survey firm also showed that 86% of Filipinos rated their lives positively in the last quarter of 2018.

"Ako po, as part of his administration for the past years, kung masaya po ang ating kapwa Pilipino sa pamamalakad ni Pangulo at marami na po silang naramdamang pagbabago, ako po gusto kong ipagpatuloy 'yung pagbabagong inumpisahan ni Duterte in the last two and half years of his term," Go said.

Go said pertaining to the aggressive campaign of the administration against illegal drugs, criminality and corruption.
