Dispatch from Crame No. 788:
Sen. Leila M. de Lima's Reaction on the treatment of the marginalized sectors in the SAP distribution

5/3/20

The cases of Mr. Roy Moral, a PWD with walking ailment forced to personally claim his cash assistance, and Lolo Gualberto Hurtado, an 84-year old man who died of stroke while waiting in line for his aid, mirror the plight of many PWDs and Senior Citizens whose vulnerabilities in the face of this pandemic have been aggravated by ineptitude of the government.

You make the Filipinos jump through hoops to obtain the aid that they so badly need. You know what is most apparent in all these - your lack of grasp of reality and your shortage in empathy.

Instead of crafting and implementing clear and robust policies that place the needs of the marginalized sectors first and foremost, why do they have to make things harder for PWDs, the elderly and other vulnerable groups through unreasonable and impractical processes? Wala namang ganyanan. Lalo na sa mga higit na nangangailangan. Please naman.
