Jose E. Romero
Senator Jose Romero was born in Bais, Oriental Negros on March 3, 1897 to Francisco Romero and Josefa Muñoz.
He was educated in the public school of Tanjay and obtained his Associates of Arts degree in 1917. He acquired Bachelor of Laws degree in 1922 in Silliman Institute and the University of the Philippines respectively.
He was elected representative from the second district of Negros Oriental for three consecutive term from 1931 to 1934, 1935 to1938 and 1938 to1941. While he was an Assemblyman, he became a delegate to the Constitutional Convention in 1934 and a majority floor leader.
He was married to Eliza Villanueva.
