NTC BUDGET: Senator Paolo “Bam” Aquino IV is assisted by National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) chairman Gamaliel Cordoba as he defends the agency’s P416.31 million budget which is higher than the P331.5 million budget for 2015. Aquino had earlier sought for additional funding to enable the NTC to procure more internet speed monitoring equipment. Only three out of eight sets of Internet monitoring equipment were approved by the Department of Budget and Management (DBM), which was insufficient to fulfil NTC’s mandate of calibrating the Internet providers' services, Aquino said.
