ADDRESSING OFW CONCERNS: Senator Joel Villanueva, chairman of the Senate Committee on Labor, Employment and Human Resources Development, stresses the need for strong legislations to fully address the concerns of our overseas Filipino workers following the recent execution of Jakatia Pawa and another death of a Pinay household service worker in Kuwait. The Committee tackled proposed measures such as "The Migrant Workers and Overseas Filipino Act of 1995", filed by Senator JV Ejercito, the "Handbook for OFWs Act of 2016", filed by Senator Manny Pacquiao, and the "Financial Literacy for Workers Act" and the "Social Welfare Attache Act of 2016", both filed by Senator Villanueva.
