Probe priest killings: Senator Risa Hontiveros calls for a comprehensive investigation into the recent spate of killing of priests during the Kapihan Sa Senado media forum, Wednesday, June 13, 2018. Hontiveros, who filed Senate Resolution No. 764 which called for the Senate to probe the issue, said the killings have not been isolated and represent a “dangerous pattern” of violence against clergymen. “These killings further reinforce the culture of impunity to silence valid Church-led criticisms on state policies, particularly those with respect to human rights and due process,” she said.
