Villar exhorts the public to promote the horticulture industry: Saying there is room for more players in the horticulture market due to the increasing demand for more domestic cut flowers, Senator Cynthia A. Villar cites the need for more “flori-entrepreneurs” and “horti-entrepreneurs” who can put up their own Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs). Villar said MSMEs comprised more than 99 percent of businesses in the country and provide more than 65% of the jobs. The senator, chair of the Senate Agriculture committee, was the guest speaker during the 72nd Midyear Orchid and Garden Show in Quezon City.
