Senator Sonny Angara joins discussions of the Akademyang Filipino: A group conceptualized in 2016 by the late former Senate President Edgardo J. Angara and National Artist F. Sionil Jose, the Akademyang Filipino brings together the Philippines’ pre-eminent achievers, who have distinguished themselves in the arts, sciences, government, academia and other professions in service to the nation. The diverse society of some 100 purposeful leaders, including the Philippines’ National Artists, National Scientists, and Ramon Magsaysay Awardees, advocate for a just, prosperous, and sovereign nation.
