POE SAYS FILIPINOS WILL FEEL THE DIFFERENCE
UNDER 'GOBYERNONG MAY PUSO'

Under her "Gobyernong may Puso," Filipinos--especially the 26 million living in poverty--will immediately know how it feels to have a government that cares for them and is sensitive to their needs.

Speaking before an estimated crowd of 55,000 in Camarines Sur, the independent presidential candidate said she can look anyone in the eye and say that she only has the best interest of the people at heart.

The country's top senator, who at 47 is the youngest among the five presidential aspirants, said she has the physical, intellectual and emotional energy to lead and serve the people.

Poe said her priority, if she wins, is to lift people out of poverty by creating more than one million jobs a year. This can be done by improving the over-all business climate to encourage more investments, aggressively rolling out infrastructure projects and strengthening the tourism industry to generate more livelihood opportunities.

Poe, the first foundling to run for president of the Philippines, also pledged to mandate, through an executive order, all public elementary schools and daycare centers in the country to provide free lunches to students.

She also vowed to implement the UNiFAST Law that will give indigent students grants so they can study in private colleges and universities if they wish.

She said she would push for the establishment of a University of the Philippines campus in Bicol that will focus on agriculture and tourism--sectors that will benefit the region's 5.4 million people.
