Revilla: Medical scholarship for deserving students, return service program a "twin solution" to PH health woes

Senator Ramon Bong Revilla, Jr. believes that the best way to increase the number of doctors in the country is for the state to provide a medical scholarship and return service program for deserving but financially-challenged students.

In his co-sponsorship speech, the veteran legislator stated that if S. No. 1520 or the Medical Scholarship Act will be passed into law, it will greatly benefit all those aspiring to enter the medical profession to finally pursue their ambition without having to make ends meet.

In return, once these scholars have finished their course and passed the Medical Board, they will serve in public health offices and medical centers.

"It is hard for any student to pursue his or her dream of becoming a doctor if he/she has limited financial capacity. This proposed measure seeks to address that issue," Revilla said.
